Having been diagnosed with Cancer I was fearful of what lay ahead. Much time was spent discussing my options and the best way ahead for me. After 5 years of follow up appointments I am finally being released as an out patient. Thank you to a fantastic Doctor who has guided and been with me every step ofvthe way. Thank you.

A very highly committed, caring person. Always listens, always concerned. Attentive to every small detail and acts promptly when necessary. I know this review is brief, but I think everything possible has been said in previous reviews. I do not think I could have possibly found a better oncologist and I will always be grateful to him. My grandson was 3 months old when I was first diagnosed. He is now nearly 6–I have been able to watch him grow up and develop. I could have missed that without Dr Rams excellent care and treatment.

I cannot express how fortunate I feel to have had Dr Ramkumar as my consultant during treatment for cancer of the tongue base. I was offered laser therapy to help deal with pain, this was personally delivered by Dr Ramkumar prior to every radiotherapy treatment (five days a week for six weeks). Throughout the treatment he was so understanding of what I was going through and always ready to help combat the side effects of the treatment. During treatment he spoke to me as a friend and showed interest in the whole me not just the illness. I am amazed that nearly five years on he still stops in the corridor to speak and remembers not only my name but also things about my family. He is a very approachable and compassionate man who is passionate about the care he provides for his patients. I know that because of the laser treatment which he gave I was able to tolerate treatment far better I would have without it.He was willing to listen to what I had to say and never made light of my fears and anxieties, I always felt that he had time for me and that I was important. He took great care to explain what was going to happen and was honest about the treatment but always positive in his attitude. I would highly recommend Dr Ramkumar and feel that I was truly blessed to have been treated by him.

I am 7 years post radio therapy for Stage 3 bowel cancer. Dr Ramkumar was my radiotherapy consultant and did a fantastic job. At the time he was pioneering IMRT Radiotherapy, which is a more directly targeted form of radiotherapy. This was not standard treatment at the time, but Dr Ramkumar believed that it would be more beneficial for me. I had about 25 sessions. Clinically his treatment was excellent and potentially saved me from life-changing surgery. As a result of the radiotherapy, my tumour shrank to no more than scar tissue, and I have so far successfully avoided any surgery. For me, the alternative would have been a permanent colostomy bag. One potential side effect of the treatment could have been erectile dysfunction, which was also avoided due to the targeted nature of the radiotherapy. In addition to being a fantastic clinician, he is kind and caring and listens to his patients. I cannot thank Dr Ramkumar enough, and I cannot praise his work highly enough. I thoroughly recommend him.
